Little NAM needs two hearing aids. Can you H E L P ???

UPDATE:
We like to thank all our supporters and everyone who donated time an money for Nam's hearing aid. Little Nam has now two hearing aids ... will provide photos when we see him in September.

Little NAM needs two hearing aids. Can you  H E L P  ???
At the Hope school for Hearing Impaired Children in Sai Gon we talked about NAM, a new student. His hearing loss is severe, Nam is only at pre-school but he does not have hearing aids. The earlier kids are supplied with hearing aids the better their chance is to speak naturally.

We investigated ... hearing aids must be designed and adjusted for every person for each ear individually. We then heard that little NAM needs two hearing aids, ONE costs about 11.500.000 VND ~ to $ 800.

Look at this bright little boy !

How can WE raise $ 1600 to be able to buy two hearing aids for little NAM ???

Nam speaking ... very hard if one can hardly hear !!!

Nam is such a lovely little boy. Can you please H E L P us help him, thanks.

Quote for a hearing aid for little NAM.

A pre-loved Lap top for Truc

Last year we gave Truc a pre-loved lap top. He is a great student, topping the class. As it can happen with any lap top ... Truc's stopped working and the repair job was way to expensive.
Truc finished high school this year and was accepted at uni to study electronics. He is already in Sai Gon and has started his first semester.

Lucky for Truc, a good friend of ours gave us an "as new" lap top. We knew Truc will have to use his lap top a lot at uni that is why we saved this lap top for him.

Truc with his "NEW LAP TOP"
Truc came to our hotel to pick up his lap top. As you can see, he's got a bright smile on his face, why wouldn't he !!!
We then discussed his HOC / HEX fee support for him. He was happy for us to pay the HOC fees for him.

Truc left a shy, but happy man !!! Miss Lam from our hotel helped with the translation.

Meeting Nhung @ Tu Du Peace Village

Nhung is very talented ... water colour painting

This morning we had another meeting at the Peace Village. We met with Dr. Chau,  waiting for Nhung. Nhung is disabled, she lost her lower leg to cancer when she was younger. There was a massive traffic gem in Tu Duc district this morning so she arrived a little late.

When Nhung arrived we had a nice chat. Our friend Hoan was translating for us ... when she was not on the phone and texting at the same time ... She is one BUSY woman.

Nhung, she was held up in a traffic gem
Nhung's entry papers to university
Together we worked out the HOC fee, as it is called in VN. Nhung's mother came to live with her in Sai Gon. Their flat is close to campus, but Nhung has to catch a bus to get there. We agreed to pay the monthly bus ticket of VND 240.000.

We worked out the cost of her HEX fees per semester plus bus fare
All in all we will pay 5.000.000 VND for each semester, which then includes public transport to and from uni. Nhung was very happy ... she is also looking for a job to earn some money.

How good is that ??? All in all a very good outcome, thanks for coming. Nhung thanked us for the ongoing support she has received over the past three years.

Bye bye Nhung and Hoan ...

Meeting with Jane

Meeting Jane again. We got in contact with Jane through our friend Mark Pham. Mark and Jane went to high school together. We have been friends with Jane on face book for some time but never met in the flesh ... except on the first Sunday at church and then we went with our 2015 support crew ... "the Nguyen Sisters" for lunch.
Jane helped us organise the Christian books we handed out to the kids in the Mekong delta and here in Sai Gon. She is a good source for new ideas and she works / volunteers doing a lot of different things.
Jane was unable to come to our farewell party that is we we did not just meet, we went for dinner with her.

She is looking forward to be part of our support team again in 2016.

Thanks and Blessings to you Jane.

He had no idea what it meant. Diep translated it for him ... and everyone was laughing !!!

Then we asked him weather he has a girlfriend ... so he could show her the hat ... that's when he cracked up laughing !!!
Hai got a book with stories from the Bible.
All in all a good, but exhausting morning. The kids thanked us for our support and said they hope to see us again next year.
