Dinner at Mark Pham's family

Mark Pham stayed with us for about a week when he was visiting Australia in March 2013.

Marks Mum invited us for dinner. She said we looked after her son, so she wants to meet us and invite us for dinner.
We hopped in a taxi to go to Mark's house in Go Vap district in Sai Gon. Before we arrived we bought some flowers for his mum and some beers for his dad.

MARK'S MUM COOKED ULI'S FAVOURITE ...  Ban Xeo ... Vina pan cake

Not only did Marks mum cook very well, she also got Mark and his brother drop off pan cakes in the neighborhood ...

 I asked Mark what his fathers name was. Mark told us, Vietnamese people do not like to be addressed by their names ... rather by younger brother or older brother. That was eays ... I just called him EM. Works at the restaurant too ... just "EM OI" and the waitress or waiter gets your attention.

Marks brother introduced himself as "Jim" which was new to Mark, so he burst out laughing!!!

What a wonderful we had and an excellent meal ... very nice. And with all the greens we ate we had no problem whatsoever. A big "Thank you" to Mrs Pham.
