Saturday, 3rd of September … Travel day …
When you travel you can always tell a story. This morning we finally got the business cards delivered we had ordered on Tuesday. Matt went to the shop Thursday 5 pm but the business cards had not arrived yet. The boss agrees to drop them off at the hotel. This morning, just before we left the hotel the cards arrived. Hurray!!!
The hotel shuttle dropped us off at the airport, check in was quick and easy. Our first JETSTAR trip!!! When we went through security our backpack was picked for an inspection. Sure enough they detected our Swiss army knife.
Good on them!!! Bad for Matt. The lady tried to figure out if we could go back to check-in counter and drop it off there, but that was not an option. Matt surrendered the knife … our mistake, our loss!!!
No, the security officer said, and asked us whether we are coming back to HCMC. Yes, in ten days we replied. Ok, she said, my name is Huong, I will keep it for you, when you return you give me a call on my mobile and I will hand it back to you. What a surprise. Huong gave us her mobile number and off we went. We will have to wait and see.
Imagine what would have happened in Australia???
We have not told you yet, we are flying to Danang and then going to Hoi An for five days, then we travel to Nha Trang by train. We take the reunification train that goes from Hanoi to Sai Gon or Ho Chi Minh City. Just for our leg it will take nearly 10 hours. Boring say some … I say plenty of photo opportunities, I hope I don’t run out of film!!!
Jet * flight, on time but the aircraft was dirty, inside and out!!! But we only paid $90 for around 900km, but still … took some photos!!!
Hotel shuttle picked us up at the airport, the driver had two bottles of cold water for us, which was nice. 45 minutes later we were in our room. Beautiful, overlooking the pool. Had a nice lunch and then crashed for an hour only to be woken by a thunderstorm. Had a swim later … sunny again.
Dinner in town tonight … See you tomorrow!!!
