Monday was a public holiday, no meetings, we took it easy, Matt still having a cold. This is our last week and we sure will be busy ! ! !
Tuesday we had a meeting at the HOPE school for hearing impaired children. The main aim was to discuss the school fees for the next year.
Before we got a chance to dig in the figures we received a formal invitation to:
The New School Year Ceremony 2012 - 2013
and it states: Your presence is a great encouragement for our staff and students in the new school year.
Wow, we have to dress up for the occasion. This is also the first time we get a chance to meet the parents of the children who receive educational support.

Then we got into the nitty gritty of last years school fees, discussed who no longer needs tuition and needs it, same with extra milk, discussed our medical trust fund and what money was spent and how.
Like everywhere else, the school fees have gone up, we had to agree. We see with our own eyes what the school is doing for those kids / students and we can compare it with other schools ... the HOPE school teachers are all switched on and go out of their way to advance their students. We can only congratulate them for their efforts. *
* Comments from Wayne Mortensen and Ashlee Planck who came and visited the school last month only confirm our sentiment.
Teachers are having lunch with their students |
We received school reports for every student, how many school days they missed due to sickness or other reasons. The school fees per day were then credited to the individual account and then used to buy books or uniforms.
We also had a little surprise, we had an Aussie 2013 calendar for both Miss Thanh, Director of Hope school and Miss Diep, vice principal, which were well received.
All in all a very fruitful meeting and we are looking forward to Friday. It will be an honor to join the New School Year ceremony.
Lunch at Hope school ... look how clean everything is !!! |
