Mekong Delta, Sunday - Hoa Dinh

Sunday afternoon, 8th of Sep

Back to work:

On the way from My Trung to Hoa Dinh we stopped to visit father Cuong. Tra from Ba Ton lives in his area and we discussed our support for Tra and his blind mother with him, (see also our Ba Ton post earlier).

After lunch we visited the church at Hoa Dinh. CVSG is already supporting five children since last year. Hoa Dinh is a very poor area. We decided to take on eleven more kids. The first five children are supported by Vietnam Kids, a CVSG cooperation in New Zealand.
Sadly we were only able to meet the new children. We had a chance to visit some of the children is their home before we met with the parents and the children.

First family:
Nguyen Lieu Xay Sang's house

Nguyen Lieu Xay Sang at his grannies house with his mother, left and younger brother
Xay Sang's mother had a bad traffic accident and has a broken leg, which has not healed properly due to a pre-existing condition.

Second family
Le Thi Cam Tien with her father and her younger sister

Tien's little sister (2 years old) suffers from hydrocephaly

After a five minute motor bike ride on unsealed paths we went back to meet the children and parents in Hoa Dinh. Meet and greet the children, giving them present, taking photos and some speeches ... last but not least a group photo and then we had to go ... 2.5 hours drive back to Sai Gon
One of the mothers thanked us for visiting their village and supporting the children.
Group photo ... each child received a present ...  we put some smiles on the kids faces.
It was already dark and raining when we arrived back home, at our ANAN hotel in Sai Gon.

Here is a challange: Come and see for yourself !!! We invite you to join us to see Viet Nam and the CVSG projects with your own eyes. Same time next year, early September.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for details, thank you.

On the way home:

Storm ahead ... on our way home

Some areas got flooded ... also due to high tide
It's not fun riding a motor bike in the rain, but the lady in the back took it easy, she was on the phone.
