Asleep ... in the midday sun |
No need to tell you how good, friendly and caring the guys at our hotel are !!! Same same with the CBA here in Sai Gon.
We were waiting at the bank, Uli sat down, next to her a local, wearing a cross around his neck. When I approached Uli he got up and said "Take my seat Sir, no worries". The way he said it I straight away knew he was from AUS. So we got talking. He lives in Sydney and came to visit his parents for three weeks.
When we later on left the bank we met him again outside, this time with his parents. Very nice people. He is in the process of bringing his parents to Australia (family reunion). It is costing them $45.000 per person.
Just hope they get their visa !!!

Bumping into our friend Mimi in the city near Notre Dame Cathedral |

Tuesday morning, sitting outside having breakfast in Bui Vien street. While waiting we witnessed something funny. A young man from Sacom Bank came to clean the ATM at a travel agency across the road. Upon completion the owner of the agency got his duster out and started to clean the top of the machine. In the process he broke the letter "m" ... see photo below.
We just had to laugh ... when he broke off part of the letter "m" |
The owner had to laugh too, as one can see. Later on he came over to talk to us. He remembered us from previous visits and knew we were coming here for six years. I was amazed, the amount of tourists coming here every year ... and he still recognised us.
