25th September 2014
So sorry that there was such a long REPORTING BREAK. It happened for various reasons.
Weekend 14 - 15th Sept.
On the weekend we went to the Mekong delta to visit 56 children / students we support. It was hard work as we were interviewing all 56 students plus the one's who just finished High school. We could not have done it without the HELP of our simultaneous translator MARK PHAM. A big thanks to him. Came back to Sai Gon Sunday late.
Monday, 16th Sept.
Meeting the hearing impaired children / students at the Hope school, Binh Thanh district. Again we were interviewing all students in order to update our profiles. This was even harder, no translation specialist and a lot of replies were in sign language. Took us a lot longer than expected.
After lunch we had an appointment with our Singaporean friend and supporter Alfie Loeong who made a donation. Thanks Leong for your wonderful contribution and your continued support.
Dinner with our special friend Mark Pham.
Tuesday, 17th Sept.
A planned break for a week in Mui Ne. 6.5 hours on the bus for 210 km. Resort was great, nice and quiet ... too quite ...
Wednesday morning I did some important work for a good friend ... and when I finished I had no internet. It turned out that a under sea cable between Viet Nam and Hong Kong was damaged. Local sites were available, but Google was not ... Funny enough I could receive e-mails but was unable to send. Same with blogger, facebook ... any overseas websites, just did not work.
It was holiday pure ... not to worry about anything for 4 days !!! Back in Sai Gon is a different story. Email works ... and the rest too, which means back to work !!!
We will start now to report in chronological order starting on Saturday, 14th of Sept.
