Saturday, 20th of August

Exciting day ahead … jumped in a cab and off we went to Thu Duc district. Took us nearly ¾ of an hour …lot of HONDA’S as the locals call them - motorbikes on the road on a Saturday morning. The last 400 meters was a bit muddy on Thursday, but the road had dried out a bit, so taxi driver had no problems getting us right to the front door.

The place looked already a million dollars … flowers and balloons everywhere and lots of people. Matt took up his job as official photographer straight away. We met some interesting people from Australia and all over the world. One guy whose name I forgot was at Bible College with Hoa. We told him the story how we got the guitar we had handed over to Hoa earlier. He was impressed and said that God provides in different ways. How TRUE!!! Anyway … Thanks again Wayne!!!

It all started to happen, more guests arrived and soon it was time to start the proceedings and the live video stream to Australia. Rev John Beasy, who is also a company director of Grace Company, opened the event and we heard an interesting mix of speeches, service and singing. Then it was time to walk to the gate and cut the ribbon. Hoa and his associate did the honours.

The ceremony was very official but festive. It was also very emotional for Hoa … after all he realised his dream. Everyone congratulated HOA afterwards.

By now it was lunchtime and we were all invited to have lunch at the Grace Café. A wonderful opportunity to meet and chat with the other guests. The food was wonderful and the cook, sorry I forgot her name, she brought out more and more food. Fantastic. And then all the fruit …

Then it was time thank our host and say our good byes and catch a cab.

After a little rest we had a cupper and a piece of cake at the ABC shop. Then it was time to sit down and write and download the photos.

Tomorrow … early start … Mekong delta … to see the 20 kids again … that reminds me, I have to charge the battery of my camera … can’t come home … sorry no photos … flat battery!!!

Hi ho hi ho … off to My Trung we go …
