Personal BANKING !!!

Tuesday, 23rd of August

Yesterday’s muesli at STELLA’s was still on our minds this morning. It was a nice break from baguette and omelette every morning, so we tried to have muesli at one of the local restaurants, after all, they serve it with fruit salad. When it arrived it was more muesli dust than anything else … and we both were not sure … did not eat it, just the yoghurt. When we paid the “em oi” = young person / waitress asked why we did not eat the muesli??? Matt explained and she immediately changed the invoice so we only had to pay for the Lipton tea. Still hungry we walked all the way to STELLA’s and had muesli only.

Later on we went to the CBD to see our favourite banking lady Ahn at CBA. We also had to get some money. We arranged with Anh to get our statements now via e-mail, which ironically enough cost money, in the post it is for free. Then we said our good byes, Anh is leaving CBA … but she wanted our contacts and gave us hers, so we can keep in touch.
When we left Anh gave us both a big hug and a kiss … THAT IS WHAT I CALL PERSONAL BANKING !!!

Talking about money, we got $500 from an ATM on Monday 15th. With all our activities, taxi rides to Hoa at $10 one way x 4 cost already $40; to the Hope School is not as far, but depending on traffic costs between $6 - $8. Eating and drinking 3 times a day, then we already bought some clothing and small presents for our friends and supporters and for a Zonta fund raising fete in October.

Walked to the Tax Centre … nothing to do with any TAX department … just a name. Tax centre is known for good quality and fair prices. We found our friend again who sells all the nice shirts and scarfs and pashminas. She was happy to see us; after all we are regulars and get a discount. Win Win!!!

After lunch it was admin time again … a cupper and a bikky … now it is 5:30 pm and poring with rain. Another cupper … and some more photos to download … it all takes time.

That's where we will be tonight ... one of our favourite restaurants.

TOMORROW … we will be picked up by Claude, he is Bao’s husband. They run and support shelters for kids who have been rejected by their parents. Mind you, they are perfectly normal … no disabilities … we met some of them on Saturday. Looking forward …

One afternoon in we had to indulge ...

Mouth watering cakes at ABC shop ... sorry you can only watch ... but we will have another black forest cake next year ... watch this space!!!

Now you see it ...

Now you don't!!!
