We are finally B A C K !!!

Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 14th of August.
Xin chao from Sai Gon !!! We finally made it. It was a bit of a hurdle race and after a long day (20 hours) we arrived at our hotel on Saturday morning 1:30.

We packed our bags on Thursday, picked up our hire car at Maroochy airport and drove to the Gold Coast to stay the night with our friends. It was cold and Matt got the shivers and shakes, so we went to bed early. Next morning … he had a cold and his voice was slowly disappearing.

Our flight to KLIA was on time and all went well … except time was not flying, it seemed to be standing still!!! Change of plane … and 4 hours waiting, waiting … it is particularly hard when you are not feeling well!!!

Finally, departure, short 1:50 h flight to Sai Gon. Got our visa, then our luggage and the hotel pick up was waiting!!! GRAND. All good, got our room and saw some familiar faces. Drinking … don’t forget to drink … fridge was already switched on, cold water!!! Quick unpack, bed time!!!

Good night sleep … and a rude awakening … we left the charger for the lap top @ home. This is why you receive our first info sooooo late!!!

Shopping @ COOP on a Saturday, when everybody else is shopping. We needed to buy a kettle (not ca … like last year !!!), two mugs, spoons etc. to be able to have a cup o tea. Bought some cheese, biscuits, yoghurt etc. Taxi on the way home.

We went to three “Hardly Normal” stores … but no luck. Selling just lap tops … no accessories. What we noticed immediately is that lap tops are still a lot dearer than at home. Pity, we want to buy some for the kids … see how we go.

Met with our friend Tam in the afternoon. She tried to find out where to get a charger but was not successful … no chargers in stock. But we got a hint to try Bui Thi Xuan Street. It is like all the computer shops swarmed to this area. One shop next to the other … all brands, spare parts and accessories … Found a charger for Apple, tried it out, did not work. Ok, next one … same, same but different … did not work either. The connection to the power point seemed to be the problem. I suggested to use a normal lead, and sure enough it worked!!! Great!!! Now I can start working.

Back home (at the hotel) we let the charger work it’s magic … and now we are back in the computer world.

Went out with Tam and her boy friend Tam for dinner. We had not met Tam before, he is a very nice guy working in hotel management. Had lots of fun …

Internet connection seems to be a bit unstable … have to talk to the reception to get it checked.
