The waiting continues ...

Today is Wednesday, it is 5 PM and we still have no news when little Nhu will have her heart surgery. Can't be helped, tomorrow is another day ... but Friday morning we ask our friend Hien to ring the Heart Clinic to find out what is going on. It's nearly a week now.
I know, there may be urgent cases admitted to hospital ... so we just have to bear n grin.

On Monday we transferred the funds for this years support to Viet Nam via which bank??? Commonwealth !!! What else. Then on Tuesday we received an e-mail from CBA Sydney. There was a problem with the recipient names, they do not match with account details.
The easiest way to find out what exactly is wrong was to talk to the CBA in Sai Gon. So we hopped in a taxi again ... VND 40.000 later we talked to Miss Van and Miss Phong. The advise was to talk to the call centre in SYD, FOC from CBA ... and we found out the our transaction was not processed because we had used the short version and not the long one's of our names. Ok, our mistake, CBA Viet Nam had refused to credit the money because of this discrepancy. Miss Van went and talked to the department refusing to credit the funds and she came back and said everything is fine, money will be transferred.
For two weeks now we have myAccess - Netbank the Viet Nam way. With myAccess came a little sophisticated dongle to generate a pin number. Now we can do internet banking, no worries.
This morning we did just that ... no funds credited. Searching for Miss Van's business card ... and rang her. She called back five minutes later and asked us to come to see her again, she will prepare a letter we had to sign and the funds could be transferred.
Apparently a lot of countries are very strict regarding recipients names. Another lesson learned!!!  3 trips to the bank ...
